Welcome to February, 2016!

Here is what's happening in our church this month.

Annual Business Meeting

All members of our church are encouraged to attend our Annual Business Meeting to be held immediately following the 10:30 Worship Service on February 7. There are many issues to be decided at this time, so your input is important. There will be a carry-in lunch following the meeting. If you can't bring a dish, please stay anyway....there will be plenty of food!

Souper Bowl of Caring

We will take up a NOISY COIN OFFERING for the Souper Bowl of Caring during the church services on February 7. All money collected will go to help feed those in need. Money collected here will be used locally at Loaves and Fishes.

Board Meetings for February

Elders Meeting - February 9 at 6:30 P.M.

Deacons Meeting - February 25 at 7:00 P.M.

Ash Wednesday Service

Lent begins with an Ash Wednesday Service on February 10th at 7 P.M. This will be a service to begin the season of repentance and spiritual growth. Ash Wednesday's Service will have the imposition of ashes and Communion by intinction.

Lenten Simple Suppers and Services

Each Wednesday of Lent (except Ash Wednesday and the Wednesday of Holy Week) the Elders will provide a simple supper at 6:00 P.M. in the Fellowship Hall. Come as you are from work or school or home. At 6:30 P.M. Pastor Adrian will have a short Lenten Service to follow the supper.

The Auglaize County Solid Waste and Recycling has asked us to change our program. It will be a self 24/7 drop off center located at the "old tile mill" building on St. Rt. 197(just around the corner from where we are now). There is a 48 foot trailer with 11 "Doggie Doors" behind the cement building. You will drive behind the building from the east.

The Doggie Doors will be marked to take SORTED items(to make it easier, sort at home).
* 3 doors for paper ONLY
* 3 doors for glass ONLY (1 for clear glass, 1 for brown glass, 1 for green glass.
* 1 door for steel cans ONLY (soup, vegetables, etc.)
* 1 door for aluminum cans ONLY (pop, beer)
* 3 doors for plastic ONLY (1 for #1 clear water and pop, etc.), 1 for #2 (milk only) and 1 for #2 colored (detergent, bleach, vinegar, etc).

Outside the trailer there will be a separate bin for Electronics and a large bucket for batteries. There will also be a separate trailer for cardboard.
No need to wait a month to recycle now. Make it easy for yourself and use smaller containers and drop off recycling more often.

Buckland United Church of Christ would like to THANK YOU for your past support by continuing to recycle.

Free Community Meal

Our next monthly Community Meal will be on February 23rd 5:00-6:00 p.m. in the church social room. Hope to see YOU there. A huge THANK YOU goes to Teresa Dorsten and her crew for providing delicious meals each month for the entire community. Her efforts are not going unnoticed!

Mission Trip

Pastor and many from the area will be going on a mission trip to Back Bay Mission from February 28th to March 5th. They will be working on many projects at the mission and we are looking forward to their report when they return. Teresa Dorsten will be filling the pulpit on February 28th.

Thought for the Month:

Just think how happy you'd be if you lost everything you have right now ---

and then got it back again.
